Execution cannot be pardoned. Hayk Demoyan accuses Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan of high treason

18.12.2024 общественно-политическая газета Голос Армении On December 18, 2024, the public and political newspaper Golos Armenii published a series of serious accusations against the family of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The claims, originally posted on Facebook by Hayk Demoyan—former Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute—were reprinted in full. The statement begins as follows:

“MR. AND MS. PASHINYANS,

You have given a rather fitting reason and opportunity to thoroughly analyze your six years in power. As a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, I would like to make a modest contribution to documenting the current state of our country—one that has resulted from the actions of you and your supporters—for the benefit of future historians. This is an important mission, whose meaning and significance you will never grasp, just like the pseudo-historians and intellectuals who serve and surround you.

Now, allow me to present the full list of serious accusations—accountability for which, in due course, will be determined not by me or you, but by the laws currently in force in the Republic of Armenia

Accordingly, you stand accused of the following:

1. Complicity in a premeditated and well-orchestrated anti-state and anti-constitutional operation; exploitation of the aspirations and goals of tens of thousands of Armenian citizens; and, consequently, active participation in an artificially engineered regime change.
2. Instigating a war with a predetermined outcome; withholding critical information from the public regarding the onset of war and its potential consequences; disclosing military and state secrets during active combat; and deliberately sending hundreds of patriotic young Armenians to their deaths.
3. Through numerous actions and statements, participating in a program amounting to genocide against the Armenians of Artsakh — a fact underscored by your signature on the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement.
4. Despite the requirement of the Armenian Constitution to ensure the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and the urgent need for the liberation of the occupied territories, you and your supporters, with your dangerous and baseless statements, are paving the way for the enemy to occupy even more land.
5. You and your supporters have not only wasted everything that was achieved through countless sacrifices and hardships over the past thirty years, but have also made Armenia’s security and future vulnerable in all areas and directions. Your very appearance is enough to humiliate the Armenian people — a nation with a centuries-old history and culture.
6. You have become a spokesperson and agent of influence for Azerbaijan and Turkey, laying the groundwork for future losses and concessions through your statements and threats.
7. ONLY SOMEONE LIKE YOU could sit next to the leader of a country responsible for massacring and injuring thousands of Armenians, crack jokes with him, smile, and laugh. This, too, is punishable.
8. Together with your team, you have not only perpetuated but also reshaped and intensified systemic corruption, cronyism, and a selective, effectively criminal justice system.

9. You and your ministers are trying to introduce into our education and science systems projects that are beyond your intellectual capacity and competence, with the sole purpose of securing and maintaining new sources of income for the criminal and oligarchic system. This, too, is a crime.
10. The incompetent preparation of school history textbooks and other educational materials, the presence of multiple corruption risks, and the use of crude intimidation tactics against specialists and academics have become trademarks of your political team.
11. You are accused of polarizing society, introducing new, repulsive moral standards into public life, governing the country through cheap manipulation, and deliberately weakening and dismantling the Armenia-Diaspora relationship.
12. You are leading an artificially constructed political formation, many members of which were once recruited amid allegations of criminal activity and homosexuality.
13. You stand accused of mocking national and state symbols, making incompetent and repulsive decisions regarding Armenian history and national memory, and relying on pseudo-intellectuals devoid of morals to carry out those decisions.
14. In your public statements, you have repeatedly denied and cast doubt on the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide, reducing the suffering and hardships of hundreds of thousands of Armenians to crude tabloid-level interpretations.
15. Over the past years, you and your supporters have desecrated and relativized the memory of the Armenian Genocide and the Genocide Memorial, making futile attempts to curry favor with Turkey, which continues the genocide by other means.
16. YOU—AND ONLY YOU—ARE RESPONSIBLE for involving individuals suspected of theft and other crimes in the Council of Trustees you established at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, for deliberately ignoring written appeals concerning these crimes, and for concealing numerous other criminal acts.
17. As a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, you are personally responsible for the disappearance of the funds raised by the Foundation, as long as the public lacks any comprehensive information about their fate.
18. You bear full responsibility for the disgraceful human resources policy that has devalued the very notion of state governance and the state-building process. The abundance of opportunists and self-serving individuals in your team renders the future of our country even more uncertain and devoid of any guarantees.
19. It is your supporters and those serving the power you have shamefully usurped who feed the enemy country's anti-Armenian propaganda. You are responsible for that as well. You, your supporters, and your servants are the primary culprits behind the destruction of the Republic of Armenia’s security—especially its information security. There is no precedent for this in world history.
20. You are responsible for the deaths of the pregnant Armenian woman and the unborn citizen of the Republic of Armenia. This stands as the most profound and sorrowful symbol—a mark you will carry to the end of your days.

Together with the false intellectuals devoid of morals and dignity, you continue to write and add black pages to the history of the Armenian people and the statehood they once created.

As for the execution and the wall suitable for it—feel free to choose both, along with the bullet caliber most fitting for the occasion. As a Christian, I refuse to be the one to fire. According to the effective laws of the Republic of Armenia, I believe that a life sentence is the most appropriate punishment for you—so you may live as a lasting testament to one who committed high treason and set out to dismantle Armenian statehood.”
