The Republican Party of Armenia is The Primary Accomplice in Pashinyan’s Catastrophe
Deputy leader of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan made the following statement at a press conference on August 5, 2025:
“I don’t agree with the opinion that it was Russia who gave up Artsakh. As harsh as it may sound, it was the Armenian people who gave up Artsakh, by failing to resist the authorities they themselves brought to power, and through whose hands Artsakh was surrendered.”
Since 2020, the Republican Party of Armenia has made it a “good” tradition to blame the people for everything. Experts of the Public Tribunal believe this is a deliberate attempt to apply the principle: “If everyone is guilty, then no one is guilty.”
The Public Tribunal poses the following questions to Armen Ashotyan:
- Who raised, funded, and promoted Nikol Pashinyan before the staged “velvet revolution” of 2018?
- Whose lie — “I will not run for prime minister” — triggered the start of the “velvet revolution”?
- Which political force voted in favor of Nikol Pashinyan’s nomination for prime minister in 2018?
- Representatives of which political forces were given key positions Nikol Pashinyan first government - and later rejoined the opposition, some even before the 2020 war?
The answers to these questions clearly point to the political force Armen Ashotyan represents as one of the main parties responsible - and a direct accomplice - in the national catastrophe brought upon Armenia and the Armenian people by Nikol Pashinyan.
