Pashinyan’s Cognitive Dissonance: “It was not my motorcade that hit a pregnant woman; it was the Armenian Prime Minister’s.”

,

On July 16, 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s press conference took place at the Sports and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan. In particular, in response to the question why those guilty in the death of Sona Mnatsakanyan, who was hit by a vehicle of the prime minister’s motorcade, remain unpunished, Nikol Pashinyan said:

“It was not my motorcade that hit the pregnant woman; it was the Armenian Prime Minister’s. What does this have to do with me?”

Telegram Channel MinaZ commented on Pashinyan’s response.

«Nikol Pashinyan, using the prime minister's motorcade, was driving at twice as high a speed as the speed limit to make it to his party meeting (Civil Contract) and hit a pregnant woman, and escaped from the crime scene. The woman and her unborn child were killed in the accident.

Attention! A question arises: whose orders did the driver follow after hitting the woman, and what was Nikol Pashinyan doing in the vehicle of the motorcade that is the motorcade of the prime minister and has nothing to do with him?»

To recall, on April 26, 2022, a vehicle from the prime minister’s motorcade hit pregnant Sona Mnatsakanyan in Yerevan. The woman died in Nairi Medical Center due to heavy injuries, without regaining consciousness.

According to attorney Raffi Aslanyan, the Prosecutor’s Office has refused to initiate criminal proceedings against the officials responsible for the prime minister’s motorcade, which struck Sona Mnatsakanyan in April 2022. She later died in hospital.

“The prosecutor overseeing the procedural aspects has once again decided not to initiate criminal prosecution against the officials responsible for the prime minister’s motorcade. As a result, the criminal case will be closed,” ArmeniaToday.am quotes the attorney as saying.
