Fidan Praises Pashinyan

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan praised Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stating that “following the liberation of the occupied territories in Karabakh, Prime Minister Pashinyan took a historic risk in the name of peace and relations with Azerbaijan,” according to Anadolu Agency. Fidan expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his team, and also acknowledged the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in facilitating the Washington deal. While the final signatures on the agreement are still pending, it is expected to be officially signed in the first half of next year. “When the Armenia-Azerbaijan agreement is finalized, we will move quickly to normalize relations with Armenia,” Fidan added.
