Ruben Rubinyan (patronymic name Karapet)

Biography

Ruben Rubinyan was born on March 8, 1990, in Yerevan. He is the son of politician Karapet Rubinyan.

Education:

In 2010, he graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University.

Rubinyan was awarded a Master's degree in Politics and Security from University College London (UCL) in 2011.

He received another Master's degree in European Studies from Jagiellonian University in Poland in 2012

In 2012-2014, he served in the Armed Forces of Armenia.

2017–2018: Research at Sabancı University, Turkey

Professional Background

A member-founder of the Civil Contract Party. In 2015-2017, he was a member and press secretary of the Party Board.

In 2018-2019, Rubinyan was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Armenia.

In 2018, he was elected a member of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) of the 7th convocation as part of My Step Alliance. He served as a member of the My Step parliamentary faction and was a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.

In 2021, he was elected a member of the Armenian National Assembly of the 8th convocation on the Civil Contract Party list and became a member of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction.

On August 3, 2021, Ruben Rubinyan was elected Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.
