Artsakh’s Material Losses Resulting from Azerbaijani Occupation

September 20, 2025 – Telegram channel “Devushka s Ruzhyem” [Rus. Девушка с ружьем] has published a detailed list and quantities of material losses sustained due to the occupation of Artsakh by Azerbaijan. The report includes both cultural heritage sites and key infrastructure assets. The statistics on material losses are presented as follows:

  • 12,500 houses (including 30% over 100-years-old)
  • 11,450 apartments
  • 60 factories
  • 15 plants
  • 200 cultural centers
  • 9 cultural hubs
  • 25 museums
  • 232 schools
  • 7 colleges
  • 4 universities
  • 11 art schools
  • 400 medieval cemeteries
  • 385 churches
  • 60 monastery complexes
  • 2,385 khachkars (Armenian cross stones)
  • 4 water reservoirs
  • 5 water canals
  • 37 hydropower plants
  • 48 mines
  • 11 hospitals
  • 230 medical points

“Such large-scale destruction reflects not only the loss of property, but also a direct attack on the cultural identity and historical heritage of the region,” the Telegram channel reports.
