Arsen Torosyan on Artsakh Before and After the 2020 War

On August 12, 2025, the Telegram channel Armenian Global Community highlighted the shift in the stance of Armenia's former healthcare minister, Arsen Torosyan, on the Artsakh issue. Before the 2020 war, Torosyan emphasized that Artsakh was a vital component of Armenian statehood. However, in 2025, in an attempt to justify Nikol Pashinyan’s policy of ceding Artsakh, he now urges the public not to interfere in the prime minister's approach.
On March 4, 2019, Torosyan posted on social media: "Artsakh plays an important role in preserving Armenian statehood. If Artsakh falls, Armenia will fall with it. Thank you to everyone - from soldiers to generals - for keeping our borders intact."

But in a March 20, 2025 interview with Armenian Public Television host Petros Ghazaryan, Torosyan called for allowing the prime minister to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, while disregarding the rights of Artsakh's residents.
